چکیده
Aim To determine the potential anti-inflammatory effect of a multimodal periodic fasting programme on surrogate parameters periodontal inflammation in hospitalized patients diagnosed for metabolic syndrome (MetS). Material and methods A total 47 were recruited an integrative ward intensified two-week fasting, diet lifestyle programme. Patients periodontally examined at baseline (t1), after 2-week protocol (t2) and, subsequently, 4 months (t3). The following determined: screening index (PSI), bleeding probing (BOP), gingival crevicular fluid volume (GCF), plaque (PI), C-reactive protein (CRP), blood pressure (BP), waist circumference (WC), glucose (FGLU), triglycerides (TRG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL) HbA1c. Results 28 female 8 male fulfilled defined criteria MetS analysed separately by gender. At t2, BOP GCF reduced when compared to t1 (median: t2 = 39; 33.1%; p < .001 73.9; 59.3 Periotron units .02, respectively). reduction correlated FGLU (R .37, .049) weight .4, .04). Conclusion This study showed first time that clinically supervised with may facilitate inflammation.
